THE SHEPHERD'S TREASURE SUMMERY


Once upon a time there lived a poor shepherd in Iran. Though uneducated, he was very intelligent and helpful. He solved the problems of people who came to him. The solutions given by him gave them full confidence and courage. He treated everyone with equality. Soon, the shepherd's intelligence and helping nature gained him popularity. Also, it reached the king of the country.

The king wanted to personally test his intelligence. After testing his intelligence, he appointed him as the governor of a small district. The new governor made full use of his ability and intelligence. His humility and wisdom reached across the country.

People admired him and accepted him for being so kind and wise. This made the governors of other provinces jealous of him. So, they told some false stories, accused him of evading tax and hiding it in an iron chest, which he carried with him every time.

When the shepherd proved him to be an honest man by unveiling the iron chest, everyone was shocked. The king was pleased with his intelligence for the second time and rewarded him for the second time. This time the shepherd was appointed governor of a large district. Hence the story ends with a moral that good qualities will always be recognized and rewarded.
